Stare into the void
The void stares back
Blow air kisses to the void
The void does a derpy chirp
Hops up
Approaches and taps needfully
Claws extended
Demanding the full extent of your attention
Purring loudly

Jumbled word salad
An awkward attempt
To understand
To be understood
To share a simple sentiment.
Monkeys slamming typewriters
Somehow stumbled upon Shakespeare
And here I can't simply spit out
A truth that I hide:
I want you.
I will think of you in the deep quiet of the night
I will think of you in the ferocity of the storm
On the bright summer days
Through enduring drought
When the ice storms of winter
Bend the trees to the ground
I will think of you through every plague
Through frogs and swarms and blood
And through more modern apocalypses
I will think of you, I will think of you
I will think of you through laughter, tears
While huddled facing deep set fears
When I find myself in another's arms
When buried beneath my cairn
The past is past - I will never tell you
But I will never not think of you.
Here is the lesson learnt:
Within the soil of your heart
Sow salt
Let nothing grow
Let it tick away the hours
Quietly, alone
Tighten the gaps in the wall
And lock the gate
And---
Wait.
Wait!
WAIT!

This one's hot tho
April 17th is National Haiku Poetry day! So here is one random one:
one unasked question
