NaNoWriMo

Many things come to an end, and apparently NaNoWriMo no longer exists in an official capacity as of the end of March of this year. Despite that, it is still a fun challenge to try to give oneself. The challenge of National Novel Writing Month is to put out an entire 50,000 word novel within a month. Of course that’s quite short, more like a novella, but fitting that within a month is feasible. That being said, I’m going to attempt one this year. I can’t guarantee I will actually finish, as there is still quite a bit going on in my life. That being said, things have calmed and are getting a little better (two hips surgeries later).

If you divide the original challenge of 50,000 words down to a daily allotment, you would need to write at least 1666 words each day. For November, I’m going to try to write at least 2000 words daily, but keep the goal at 50,000 words. That will give me a little leeway when I (inevitably) start to slack off. It will be a little hit and miss to start because I’m unsure how I will want to do updates – if they will be daily or if I will divide it into twice a week dumps of progress. We’ll see. The last few times I had tried NaNo, I usually didn’t get very far.
